Everything Families Need to Know about ASA's Open Enrollment

Overview

Allegiance STEAM Academy (ASA) will accept new TK–8 applications for the 2026–27 school year during our lottery application window (“open enrollment”).

  • Open Enrollment Window: October 1, 2025 – December 31, 2025 (11:59 PM)

  • Who must apply: New families and students not currently enrolled at ASA.

  • Who does not need to apply: Currently enrolled ASA students—they automatically matriculate to the next grade level.

How to Apply (New TK–8 Students)

  1. Go ASA’s online application portal, called SchoolMint by clicking here.

  2. Create or log into your SchoolMint account.

  3. Complete and submit one application per student, per campus before December 31, 2025 (11:59 PM).

Lottery & Results

If ASA receives more applications than available seats, we hold a public, random lottery:

  • Lottery Dates (for 2026–27): 

    • Chino campus: Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at 4:00 PM, located at 5862 C Street in Chino

    • Fontana campus: Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 4:00 PM, located at 7930 Locust Avenue in Fontana

  • Results: Will be posted in your SchoolMint portal. You’ll receive an email prompting you to log in and view your status.

Post-Lottery & Late Applications

  • Missed the deadline? Applications submitted after December 31, 2025 (11:59 PM) are considered post-lottery and are not included in the January lottery.

  • Waitlist Placement: Late applications are placed after the on-time waitlist, in order of submission.

  • Post–Open Enrollment (2026–27) Applications Open: Monday, January 5, 2026, for waitlist consideration.

Admission Preferences

Per ASA’s charter, the following preferences apply when seats are limited:

  1. Currently enrolled students (exempt from lottery)

  2. Siblings of currently enrolled students

  3. Children of ASA Thrive staff (shall not exceed 10% of total enrollment)

  4. ASA Chino applicants only: Children residing within ASA’ Chino campus boundaries (3:1 weighting in lottery) 

  5. Children residing within CVUSD or FUSD boundaries (2:1 weighting in lottery)

There are limited seats. If applications exceed available spaces, a random lottery will determine offers and waitlist order.

Siblings

  • An application must be submitted for each sibling.

  • Sibling preference does not apply if the sibling at ASA is promoting from 8th grade in May 2026.

Rules & Eligibility

  • One (1) application per student, per campus is allowed.

  • Submitting more than one application or providing false/incorrect information may result in disqualification.

After the Lottery

  • Admitted: Families offered a seat will receive an email prompt to check their SchoolMint portal for next steps and deadlines.

  • Waitlisted: Families can check waitlist position any time in SchoolMint. As seats open, ASA will notify waitlisted families by email to check their portal.
