Allegiance STEAM Academy Thrive

Expanding School Choice and Unleashing Student Potential

October Focus: The 20-Minute Reading Ritual

Why Reading Matters

Reading is one of the most powerful academic habits families can build.

Just 20 minutes of reading each day helps students strengthen vocabulary, comprehension, critical thinking, communication skills, and background knowledge across all subject areas.

At Allegiance STEAM Academy, we know that reading is more than an academic skill. Reading develops imagination, empathy, curiosity, and problem-solving.

Families do not need expensive programs or complicated strategies to support literacy.

The most powerful tool is simple: Read together consistently.
